OPERATION ALLIED FORCE UPDATE
NATO air forces took advantage of continued favorable weather during the
day yesterday to concentrate air attacks against Serb forces in Kosovo,
particularly in the Prizren, Stimlje, Suva Reka and Junik areas. The
weather deteriorated during the night on Day 50, particularly in the north.
This led to cancellation of some planned attacks.
Strikes included armour; a range of military vehicles, some revetted;
troop, artillery and mortar positions; a SA-6 transloader; a logistics
staging area; and tunnel complex.
It attacks on airfields at Batajnica and Obvra, five additional Yugoslav
aircraft were destroyed on the ground.
Strategic targets included:
Military communications sites at:
· Kosovska
· Novi Sad
· Stara Pazova
Highway bridges at:
· Milosevo
· West Orlate
· East Orlate
All NATO aircraft returned safely. Allied Force operations are underway
