OPERATION ALLIED FORCE UPDATE


Poor weather caused cancellation of most air activity yesterday, on Day 54
of Operation Allied Force.


The sorties that did take place occurred in southwest Kosovo where the
weather allowed pilots to make positive target detection. A small number
of Serb armour, military vehicles and artillery positions were struck


Strategic strikes yesterday included the airfield at Sjenica.


All NATO aircraft returned safely. Allied Force operations are underway
on Day 55. NATO expects better weather in the region until at least
Thursday, which will allow for more intensified operations. Further
details will be provided at NATO's morning update at 1030.
